In the last few years, we have seen everyday people take off, almost instantly, all thanks to platforms like TikTok, which is seeing more and more people going viral every day for literally anything!
We’ve seen slime, paint mixing, illusions, and some sick transitions and we can’t forget the now most followed person on TikTok, Khaby Lame, who simply makes videos mocking overly complicated life hacks. So, as you see, literally any content can go viral with the right content marketing strategy.
Let’s look at how your brand can go viral in 2022 with the following 7 steps
1. THE FIRST 3 SECONDS
The attention span of your viewers has significantly decreased following TikTok’s popularity and usage. The first 3 seconds of your content video are now the most crucial in grabbing viewers’ attention and keeping them viewing your content beyond the initial hook of your video. Let’s just say the quirkier, weirder, interesting, and bolder the beginning of your video is, the more likely viewers are to stick around and listen to you.
2. KEEP IT SHORT, SIMPLE, AND SWEET
Now that you’ve got the attention of your viewer within the first 3 seconds, you’re going to want to delve into the content you have prepared. Whilst everything you’ve got to say may be great and incredibly interesting, you need to keep in mind the shorter your video is and straight to the point, the better. This is once again because of people’s short attention span, so the longer your video is the more likely viewers will scroll past, especially if it doesn’t provide much value
3. CALLING ALL TO ACTION
Going viral is not the goal but a stepping stone to create and drive a call to action. What do you want from your viewers? Do you want them to buy, shop, subscribe or sign up? Do you want them to learn more, see more, or hit that follow button? Whatever your call to action, it needs to be said so that your viewers know what to do next after you’ve shared some amazing content.
4. WHAT’S TRENDING
It’s all about trends these days so keeping on top of trending sounds, trending ideas, and trending trends is going to make or break your viral content strategy.
Using trending sounds is like using hashtags, it’s all about increasing your chances of discoverability. To find the perfect trending audios/music you can either scroll through your ‘for you’ page, where you will be guaranteed to see (or hear) a repeat of the same audio and that will indicate a trending sound. Otherwise, when you add a sound to your video through TikTok you can discover what’s trending and sort through a series of curated sounds.
When it comes to re-creating trends it’s important to keep them aligned with your brand, it must be authentic, relatable, and within your niche.

5. ENGAGING WITH OTHER CREATORS
Being active is so important and showing your support and engaging with fellow creators is crucial to building a community that you support and in turn supports you. It’s all about forming and building strong relationships, which will help boost your content and overall brand and presence in the digital space. Engaging can also give you some insight into what is working well and resonating with your viewers and what isn’t so that you can strengthen your existing strategy.
6. USE TRENDING HASHTAGS TO BOOST DISCOVERABILITY
Hashtags, hashtags, hashtags! They are still relevant in 2022 and you should be using them strategically. Trending hashtags can help boost your video’s discoverability, especially if it’s a trending topic or video trend, and will help you reach new audiences who are more likely to find value in your content
7. CONSISTENCY IS KEY 🔑
Any strategy will take time, effort, and consistency, so it is important to stay committed despite a lack of results that may be faced in the beginning. This is not to say that you need to post every day at all times of the day, but rather find a good balance that is giving your viewers enough, but enough to keep them looking forward to more.
