Since the introduction of Reels, you may have noticed an uptick in the number of short videos shared on Instagram. The popularity of Reels and the increased importance of video content has resulted in a rewarding experience for those who make content. Instagram has launched a new incentive program called Reels, which offers producers financial incentives to produce more videos. They’re paying individuals like you up to $10,000 in incentives to upload Reels and spending a billion dollars on the campaign.

I mean come on, if you’re a business or brand with a social media presence and you’re not using video to grow your audience, when are you finally doing it? I guess we can all agree that there is a lot of money to be made by having video content on your sites. Whether it’s Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google+, or any other social platform out there today — people want video content from their favourite brands.

So let’s talk about how you’ll be growing your audience with the video content in no time.

1. Be Authentic!

We’re starting with the most common mistake that people make on Instagram Reels – not taking their content seriously!

The secret to being featured on Instagram’s Reels page is to consistently produce fresh material. Finding a way to stand out among the dozens, if not millions, of other producers that post to Instagram Reels every day is no easy feat.

To your relief, Instagram Reels don’t need a complete rethinking of the planning process. The most important thing is to make something that will help others learn something or make them laugh, but with your spin on it.

Any concept may be made new and interesting by adding a twist or a different viewpoint. Making unique footage in the Reels editor might also help increase your presence on Instagram, which has confirmed that it gives favour to videos that aren’t obviously copied from other apps.

It may take some time and effort to produce unique material, but it’s one of the finest methods to beat the system and stand out in your niche.

2. Transcribe your videos using the “caption” sticker

If you want your video to reach more people across different platforms, then adding on-screen text and closed captions is a must. Not only are they great for people who watch without sound, but they’re invaluable for those with hearing difficulties. In this article, we’ll tell you what the different types of captioning are and how to add captions to your videos and Instagram stories using the Caption sticker.

To add video subtitles you can use Instagram’s closed caption sticker.

Tap on the sticker icon and select “Captions.”

The transcription of the audio may take a little while. Once they do, you can go back and change the wording to make sure everything is accurate.

TIP: By placing your closed captions in the middle of your screen, you can ensure that they are visible across the Instagram app.

3. Remove your Tiktok Watermark

watermark

Instagram, the go-to for visual content creators, is all about highlighting creativity. One of the ways you can showcase your raw video footage is by posting Reels on TikTok and Instagram simultaneously, with your original phone from which you created the content — but there’s a catch.

According to Instagram, Reels that are obviously reused from other applications are deprioritized, which makes them less likely to show on the Instagram Explore Page and the Reels tab.

With this in mind, creating content specifically for Instagram and TikTok is the best course of action, even if you utilize the same raw material (from your Camera Roll) on both applications.

If everything else fails, you may try using a watermark removal program to get rid of the TikTok watermark from your video, but keep in mind that these third-party tools might have an impact on the final product’s quality.

4. Kill it with CTAs

The best way to drive traffic from Reels is by including a clear call-to-action (CTA) that encourages people to head to your link in bio.

Getting views on your Reels is great, but what’s the point if you don’t have a strategy to drive traffic to your website? A clear CTA (call-to-action) in the description of the Reel encourages viewers to head over to your link in bio. You can also use on-screen text placement and/or a verbal call-out, company jingle, or anything catchy (in the video’s caption) as long as it is not distracting from the content of your video.

5. Don’t lag off – Hop on the trends fast!

Reels are highly ephemeral, much like TikTok.

Spend a few minutes each morning scrolling through the Instagram Reels page and the profiles of other artists to see what they’re posting to jump on a trend before it gets outdated.

Is there specific music that keeps coming up for you? a sound clip? a fad in dancing?

If so, click on the song to find out how many other artists have also utilized it. To get a sense of the trend, scroll through the videos.

6. Don’t hide them on your feed

In case you didn’t know, one of the best ways to maximize Reels’ views and their chances of becoming viral is to share them on your Instagram feed.

Make sure you choose to publish your Reels straight to your Instagram feed keeping this in mind.

Otherwise, there’s a risk that your community won’t notice your Reel.

You may post an Instagram Reel cover picture to ensure that it blends in well with the rest of your content if you’re concerned that it will spoil your Instagram aesthetic.

7. Optimize On-screen Text Placement

Do you want to get better engagement on social media?

Whether you’re adding text to your post or sharing a video, here’s how to improve your audience’s engagement. On-screen text placement is one of the most important design factors for any type of visual media — including image and video content.

Make sure the text you add is inside the 4:5 ratio, particularly if you want to share it on your feed.

This will make the text visible when a user clicks on your Reel in-feed.

Although it may not seem like a significant thing, properly selecting where your content is placed makes it a far more pleasant experience for your readers.

8. Find Your Niche and Post Consistently

One of the best ways to gain virality on Instagram Reels is by finding your niche and posting consistently. Find a topic that you’re knowledgeable about, and consistently post useful content to your followers.

This way, they are interested in your next post and will be likely to click through your link and follow you.

Keep continuing even if your first few Reels don’t get a lot of attention or engagement. It’s all about trial and error on social media, just like everything else.

By arranging your Reels and planning ahead, you can maintain consistency.

Struggling to create more content? Reels aren’t only for the newest dancing fads, as you may have previously believed. By sharing educational information, a ton of producers are becoming viral.

Making educational content benefits your audience and establishes you as an authority on a certain subject.

9. Don’t forget your hashtags

When it comes to creating Instagram Reels, many brands are going above and beyond to gain an edge. However, a creative approach is only going to get you so far. There is no guarantee that your reel will be served in a user’s feed, especially if your account is smaller.

Instead, if you want your content to stand out, hashtags are one of the best ways to stay on top of your competitors!

Sharing specific food content?

The Instagram Reels algorithm will know, for instance, that your material is about food if you include hashtags like #easyrecipes, #mealideas, and #dinnerinspiration. This may boost the probability that people who are actively interacting with comparable content may see your content.

10. Use a trending audio

The audio can make or break your videos. Music that is in sync with your video and not too over-powering is a must if you want to keep users engaged. When picking audio I recommend you use one of Instagram’s free music tracks.

Putting the right music in your Instagram reel is one of the big reasons why you should use music from the Instagram library. Having relevant, high-quality music in your video is a smart way to stand out and can make all the difference for a viewer, getting them to watch to the end.

11. Share your reel to your stories

Don’t forget to post your Instagram Reels to your Instagram Stories as well.

It’s a great idea to post your Reel in as many locations as you can if you want to broaden your audience.

Additionally, you can always use a picture or GIF to cover a portion of your Instagram Reel to entice viewers to click and watch the whole thing (as in the example below).
